A huge part of my studio practice is working directly with collectors on custom, commissioned pieces. Together we come up with a plan: my style paired with your colors and size. Many folks ask me to just go for it and make them a piece without guidelines and I can do that, too! I am honored to be trusted with making special, personalized art for homes and personal spaces. If you are interested in discussing this process, please contact me directly and we can chat. I’m also happy to connect you with past clients for references.
My sketchbook is my sacred space for getting my 'weirds' out. I like to spend the first 30-60 minutes of my studio time playing around in it-taking risks with color, line and whatever else comes up. There are no rules, no judgements. I find some of my best ideas come out during this time and I incorporate them into my larger pieces. Most of my commission requests come from these sketchbook pieces- if you see something you would like in a larger size, please contact me.
I discovered weaving while living in New Zealand and it has been one of my greatest joys. I find tapestry weaving is really just like painting, but with fiber. It's so peaceful. I enjoying making a variety of styles: abstract, landscape, or geometric patterns. Please contact me for commission work with specific styles and color schemes.
Sunrise and Sunset: Rimutaka Series.
This is an ongoing series and can be made by request.
Early rising: Marlborough Sounds Series
Made with vintage fibre and 100% NZ wool. This is an ongoing series and can be duplicated for a limited time. Currently SOLD OUT.
Windswept: Tasmin Sea
Made from recycled denim, this free form abstract is a visual representation the sea surrounding the southern suburbs in Wellington, New Zealand. SOLD.
Sunrise and Sunset: Hawkes Bay Series
These were made in the car road tripping from Wellington to Hawkes Bay. The uneven hills, rough rivers, and winding country roads were such an inspiration! These are part of an ongoing series and can be requested for a commission. Currently SOLD OUT.
Sisters: Geometric pairings
100% NZ wool, made with love. Playful colors and shapes reflect my joy in exploring geometric shapes and design. SOLD.
100% NZ wool. Geometric play and design. $175.
Sailboats in the Bay
100% NZ wool. Geometric play and design.
Mixed fibers. Geometric play and design. SOLD.
100% NZ wool and driftwood. Geometric play and design. SOLD.
This was one of three tapestries for a special commission. A tapestry for each daughter-- and each girl chose her own color scheme. This was obviously pink! Commission tapestries are $150-250 each depending on size and materials.
NZ wool and antique silk. This was another in the special commission for the three special daughters. The chosen colors were purple and black. This was for the oldest daughter and I felt an abstract, free form tapestry felt the most "her." Also, purple screams royalty to me and I wanted something a bit more mature. Commissioned tapestries are $150-250 depending on size and materials.
Mixed fibers and NZ driftwood. Free form and abstract - my very favorite colors all melting together. SOLD.
100% NZ wool and NZ driftwood. Soft palette and dreamy wool make this tapestry lux and an excellent statement piece (the texture pops off the wall). Available for $175.
Mixed fiber. Super playful and fun. This was a joy to make and will always be one of my favorite pieces. NFS.
