Poppy Dodge is an emerging artist living in Northern California. Poppy graduated with her BFA from California State University East Bay with an emphasis in painting and drawing. Upon graduation in 2003, she packed up her studio and moved to Los Angeles where she began her career in art education and studio art. While living in LA, she was a member of the Los Angeles Art Association and participated in several group shows throughout the city. In 2013, Poppy and her family grabbed the opportunity to move to Wellington, New Zealand. Living in a tiny seaside community was an inspiration, both in the studio and personally. Poppy’s work shifted from playful narratives to brightly colored abstracts. Her work was shown in retail and gallery spaces in Wellington and Auckland. After five years abroad, Poppy and her family recently relocated back to Northern California. She is currently exploring her “Bend” series that focuses on the universal theme of strength and adjustment in times of change and adversity. Poppy can be found making art in her tiny home studio or out and about with her growing family.
